Welcome to The Ontario Aggregate Trucking Association. OATA is a not-for-profit association founded by a group of determined truckers in October of 2016.
Our members represent the phenomenal trucking history of Canada in Ontario. They are fine individuals and dedicated professionals contributing to one of the largest economic sector in the country. Hailing from rural and urban areas these members are committed to excellence in the trucking industry.
Our association supports the Aggregate Hauling Trucking companies and freight forwarding companies in the province of Ontario. Our primary focus is to support companies and individuals who work in aggregate quarries. We address their concerns of day-to-day operations as well as the industry overall. We fight for their rights and this includes taking the issues to as far as the government. We work closely with OPP, highway safety and Ministry of Transportation. Our bi-monthly meetings are conducted on workplace and highway safety.
Our biggest strength is unifying our fellow truckers and members and operate as an integrated unit. Our foremost endeavour is to operate and deliver results for our members and community. We take pride in mentioning that our members have taken the initiative to post signs in Punjabi language in the quarries to help them perform their job more efficiently. We review the operations of quarries and a thorough survey was done in 2017, which was a first in the history of the aggregate.
Raising the Voice
We have put forward almost 52 concerns since our inception and two major protests. The first one was against axle weight limitations and the other one was against increased commercial insurance.
For the Families
We organized a family picnic in 2019. Almost 1400 families attended, and it was a huge success. The 2020 edition of the picnic will be held in Brampton. The data and venue will be announced in a few weeks.
The Dufferin Aggregate – Milton – quarry 2019 appreciation award was given to OATA.
We are proud to announce that the OATA monthly magazine titled Aggregate Truck Union will be coming out soon.
